FC 27 Editions Compared: Standard vs Ultimate vs Ultimate Plus
A current comparison of FC 27 Standard, Ultimate and the limited Ultimate Plus edition, including early access and pre-order timing.
FC 27 launched with three named editions in EA’s pre-release campaign: Standard, Ultimate and Ultimate Plus. The important thing in September is that Ultimate Plus was an early-bird edition whose sales window ended 31 August 2026, so most buyers now choose between Standard and Ultimate.
Standard Edition
Standard includes the full game and core modes at worldwide launch. EA’s pre-order offer through 24 September also includes Career items such as pre-order challenges, three ICONs/Heroes, a five-star coach and five-star youth scout, plus selected The Grounds cosmetics and AXP multipliers.
Ultimate Edition
Ultimate adds the headline benefit of up to seven days Early Access. EA also lists the Season 1 Premium Pass, 6,000 FC Points delivered across three monthly drops, an additional Ultimate Team Evolution slot, Career bonuses and The Grounds items.
Ultimate Plus Edition
Ultimate Plus was sold only during the early-bird period from 23 July to 31 August 2026. EA positioned it above Ultimate with more long-term premium content, including 10,000 FC Points over five months, Premium Passes for Seasons 1 through 5, an 85+ International ICON item, a Hall of FUT player pick and additional mode bonuses.
Platform restrictions on Ultimate Plus
EA said Ultimate Plus was not available on Nintendo platforms or Epic Games Store. Standard and Ultimate have wider platform availability.
Pre-order deadline-dependent rewards
Some rewards required purchase by 31 August, especially selected ICON content. Buying Ultimate later does not retroactively grant every early-bird reward. Always read the current EA store text instead of relying on old edition-comparison graphics.
Which edition changes gameplay?
The core gameplay systems—FUT Gallery, Career transfer market, Dynamic OVR, The Grounds and general gameplay—belong to FC 27 itself. Editions mainly alter access timing, FC Points, Premium Passes and bonus items; they do not create a separate gameplay engine.
Practical comparison
- Standard: full game at worldwide launch, lowest-content tier.
- Ultimate: full game + Early Access + FC Points + Premium Pass/bonus content.
- Ultimate Plus: limited early-bird package with the largest pre-order bundle; purchase window closed.
See the launch timeline for exact timing and the platform guide for hardware availability.
FC Points delivery is staggered
The 6,000 FC Points in Ultimate Edition are not necessarily delivered as one immediate lump. EA’s offer terms describe them as being distributed evenly across three monthly drops. Ultimate Plus was marketed with 10,000 FC Points over five months. That matters when comparing screenshots that show “included FC Points” without the delivery schedule.
Edition bonuses touch multiple modes
The bundles are not only Ultimate Team packs. They include Career staff/challenge content and The Grounds cosmetics/AXP items. The economic value therefore depends on which modes a player actually uses.
Old comparison charts can be misleading now
Any chart created before 31 August may still show Ultimate Plus as a live choice. By September 18 its early-bird purchase period has ended. Similarly, some ICON and FC 26 carryover bonuses required pre-order by specific dates. Always compare the current store offer rather than assuming every originally announced item is still obtainable.
Nintendo and Epic differences
Ultimate Plus was not offered on Nintendo platforms or Epic Games Store, while Standard and Ultimate have broader availability. This is one reason platform-specific store pages are more reliable than a generic edition graphic.
