What Is The Grounds in EA SPORTS FC 27? Confirmed Launch Information

A plain-language guide to The Grounds in FC 27 and the confirmed edition bonuses and launch-support references around the mode.

The Grounds is FC 27’s new social environment for Clubs on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. EA describes it as a place where street-style football and stadium competition sit inside the same progression system.

What happened to Clubs?

Clubs still exists as the team-based created-Pro experience, but The Grounds becomes its new home. League matches, Playoffs and Rush return rather than being removed.

Street and stadium play

The Grounds is designed around multiple football settings rather than a single menu. EA’s launch material emphasizes both street-style kickabouts and traditional stadium competition.

AXP and Grounds Coins

Playing contributes to your Pro through AXP and Grounds Coins. Limited-time competitions such as Tournaments and Playoffs can offer larger rewards.

Archetypes

Archetypes remain central to Pro development. EA says players have more freedom to experiment with builds while continuing to specialize their Pro over time.

First Club Tournament

Starting in Early Access and continuing through worldwide launch, EA’s first named event is a Classic Stadium 11v11 Club Tournament. It has its own House Rules, entry requirements, Objectives and rewards.

Platform availability matters

EA names PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC for The Grounds. PS4, Xbox One and original Switch players should therefore not assume access to this current-generation social hub simply because FC 27 itself is available on their platform.

Edition bonuses

Pre-order packages include The Grounds items such as a Signature Sweatsuit, an Mbappé-inspired Tier 3 AMP and AXP multipliers. These are bonuses inside the mode, not the mode itself.

Why this matters for Clubs players

The Grounds signals that EA is treating Clubs as a broader live-service social mode rather than only a sequence of league matches. Tournament structure, currency, progression and rotating content now matter alongside the traditional Pro and club systems.

For hardware differences, see FC 27 platforms.

Progression follows the Pro across environments

EA says AXP and Grounds Coins can be earned whether the player is competing on the street or in a stadium. The design is meant to make the social hub, Rush, League/Playoff matches and tournament content part of one progression loop rather than disconnected menus.

Archetypes remain central

Archetypes still define how a created Pro develops, but FC 27 gives more room to experiment with builds. Limited-time experiences can offer larger rewards, creating reasons to change or adapt a Pro for different event formats.

Classic Stadium 11v11 is the first tournament test

The first Club Tournament runs across Early Access and worldwide launch. It uses 11v11 competition with House Rules, entry requirements, Objectives and its own rewards, demonstrating that The Grounds is also a live-event framework rather than only a redesigned lobby.

Not an old-generation feature

The Grounds is specifically named for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Players on PS4, Xbox One or the original Switch should treat screenshots/videos of The Grounds as current-generation material.
